BMWE Shocked and Saddened by Untimely Death of Vice President Borden

December 27, 1941 - February 5, 2001

It is with great sadness that BMWE President Mac Fleming advises that Larry W. Borden, Vice President from the BMWE's Southwest Region passed away yesterday afternoon, February 5, 2001, of an apparent heart attack.   Brother Borden was in Miami, Florida to attend the Grand Lodge Officers meeting being held there.  No further details are available at this time.

Brother Borden joined the BMWE in May 1971 and was a member of Local Lodge 1193, Missouri Pacific System Federation.  After holding several local lodge offices, he was elected as General Chairman in 1984 and served in that position until 1994 when he became Vice President.

Brother Borden, 59, was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky but has lived in Texas for many years.  He and his wife Jynelle have three children, Cary, James and Laura.
