Favorable report for CSXT

JACKSONVILLE -- CSX Transportation received a positive analysis of its service from Wall Street analysts, the Florida Times-Union reports.

The praise came from John Kollar, a transportation analyst for Wall Street firm HSBC. In a report last month, Kollar rated CSX shares a "hold," but lack of interest in the stock was not related to customer service problems that have plagued the railroad.

"Just when CSX was about to benefit from improved operating and cost synergies," Kollar wrote, "a softening economic environment threatens to overshadow the improvement."

In a report earlier this year, the Surface Transportation Board, an arm of the U.S. Department of Transportation, also said CSX had made great strides in eliminating customer service problems.
