ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Union Pacific Railroad Co. said it will redeem debt on the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad Co. due 2033, the St. Louis Business Journal reports.

The debentures were assumed by Union Pacific as a result of the acquisition of the MKT by the
Missouri Pacific Railroad Co. in 1988, and the subsequent merger of Missouri Pacific Railroad into
Union Pacific in 1997.

The MKT debentures will be redeemed at the principal amount with accrued interest from Jan. 1,
2001 to March 15, 2002.

Omaha-based Union Pacific Railroad Co. has significant operations in the St. Louis area.
