TO ALL LOCAL LODGE
SECRETARY-TREASURERS

Dear Sirs and Brothers:

          By action of the just-concluded Grand Lodge Convention, the delegates voted to eliminate former Article IX, governing the referendum and recall of Grand Lodge Officers. As there is no longer any basis in the Constitution and ByLaws to remove officers by recall, and as the change is effective immediately, the pending recalls seeking removal of Mac. A. Fleming and W. E. LaRue are canceled.

          Therefore, there is no need to take any further steps to act on the recall ballots. It is not necessary to conduct special lodge meetings to conduct recall votes. No vote should be taken at regular or special meetings on the recall. Those votes already cast will be disposed of.
