Officers of the Grand Lodge consist of a
president, secretary-treasurer, six-member executive board, and seven
vice presidents. One executive board member and one vice president is
elected from each U.S. region, i.e. Northeast, Northwest, Southeast,
Southwest and Western. The remaining executive board member and two
vice presidents are elected from Canada.
In accordance with Article I, Section 4, of the Grand Lodge
Constitution and Bylaws, "every bona fide candidate for Grand
Lodge office shall have certain rights with respect to the
distribution of campaign literature and freedom of
discrimination."
These rights include that "Grand Lodge will comply with all
reasonable requests of all such candidates to distribute, by mail or
otherwise, at the candidate’s expense, campaign literature in aid of
his candidacy to all members in good standing."
These rights also include that every "bona fide candidate for
Grand Lodge office may supply the Grand Lodge with a picture and a
brief campaign announcement of 250 words or less to be published"
in the BMWE JOURNAL. This announcement is to be published in the same
JOURNAL issue as the last proposed Bylaws changes prior to the
Convention, which this year is the May-June issue. The deadline date
for this issue is April 30, 2002. Any picture provided to the JOURNAL
should be passport-style. |
