The 2000 round of bargaining officially began on November 1, 1999 with the filing of the BMWE's demands for changes to the 1996 National Agreement with the railroads. A copy of the BMWE's demands (Section 6 Notice) as well as those of the railroads can be found beginning on page 7 of this Journal in addition to a brief summary of the bargaining process under the Railway Labor Act.
