The BMWED Hurricane Harvey Disaster Relief Assistance Fund
The BMWED Hurricane Harvey Disaster Relief Assistance Fund has been established for those members who, by result of the storm, have lost housing in their primary residence and lost their job as a result of hurricane damage.
A BMWED "Harvey Relief Team" has been dispatched to offer financial assistance to Brotherhood members in the Texas Counties and Louisiana Parishes that have been declared Federal Disaster areas. Starting at the Teamsters Local 988 building in Houston, members of the disaster relief team will "fan out" in multiple directions to locate and offer financial assistance to members directly harmed by the storm. The team will also advise members of additional Disaster Relief assistance being offered by the federal and state government.
