The following attachments are informational documents regarding the current status of National Negotiations for the BMWED and SMART-MD Coalition and a Railway Labor Act bargaining process flow chart.
Note that we are currently in the “Mediated Negotiations” step of the bargaining process, as identified in the light green box of the flow chart. These documents are not meant to be an exhaustive description of what has transpired thus far in negotiations, but to instead provide a succinct description of the status of negotiations, and where it could potentially lead under the proscribed processes of the RLA.
While there have been multiple conversations with the assigned Mediator, no future mediation dates have been scheduled. However, it is anticipated that mediation dates will be scheduled in the near future and information regarding such will be provided as it develops. RAILWAY LABOR ACT FLOW CHART
