No Strike on Fri., Sept. 16. Remaining Rail Unions Reach Tentative Agreement

Published: Sep 15 2022 10:39AM

Early this morning, the leadership of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET), the Transportation Division of the International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Workers (SMART-TD), and the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen (BRS) reached a tentative agreement with the National Carriers Conference Committee (NCCC). Like the remainder of Rail Labor that have reached tentative agreements, the contract will not become final until members review the terms and approve it through a ratification vote.

The looming strike deadline of tomorrow, September 16 at 12:01 a.m. is no longer in place with the two sides entering into tentative agreements.

We congratulate our Brothers and Sisters with the BLET, SMART-TD, and BRS as well as the entirety of Rail Labor, for their hard work and dedication to the collective memberships of Rail Labor over the arduous three-year bargaining round.
