On Wednesday, September 4, members of the BMWED’s Armed Forces Council gathered at Arlington National Cemetery to present a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier serves as a symbolic grave for all war dead whose remains have not been found or identified.

It is a sincere honor to represent the BMWED and all of Rail Labor at such a sacred memorial. It is not lost on us the tremendous gratitude we owe to all servicemembers, especially those who fought to secure our liberties and freedom and tragically did not return home.

This wreath is just a small measure of our incredible debt to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

BMWED AFC Members Who Participated in the Wreath Ceremony:

  • Darren Brown (Army)

  • Timothy Southerland (USMC)

  • Karl Snowden (USMC)

  • Vice President Staci Moody-Gilbert (Navy)

Also in Attendance:

  • Director of Government Affairs Jeff Joines (Army)

  • Vice President Reese Saulter

  • AJ Bastedo
