BMWED members should know that, although aspirational, the adoption of Resolutions must be received by the Resolutions Committee no later than 30 days prior to convention.

• Resolutions may be adopted by a majority vote of the delegates present, provided the proposed resolution is submitted to the resolution committee at least 30 days before the Convention.  Although mail-in resolutions have traditionally been accepted, resolution proposals may also be submitted to [email protected] and will be forwarded to the BMWED President. Otherwise, written copies may be sent to the BMWED President in Novi, MI.

• Proposed Resolutions not received by the Resolutions Committee at least 30 days before the convention will require supermajority approval of three-fourths (3/4) of the delegates present.

• Please note that Resolution 31 of the current BMWED National Division Bylaws requires resolutions to be submitted 45 days before the convention to be guaranteed distribution to all delegates at the convention. National Division will endeavor to get all resolutions to all delegates submitted within the 30-day period; however, remember only those that are received 45 days out are guaranteed to be distributed to the all delegates.

If you are considering submitting a Resolution, please be sure it is timely and in proper written form. All current resolutions will be considered for readoption by the Resolutions Committee and will not require them being resubmitted.
