The Federal Railroad Administration Region 6 (Kansas City, MO.) is recruiting for a Railroad Track Safety Specialist.  The position is a GS 13 and supports the Kansas City Midwest Region.  The advertised duty locations are Denver, Omaha, St. Louis, and Kansas City.   

The Railroad Safety Specialist (Track) works in coordination with a Region 6 Office of the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), Office of Safety. The FRA Office of Safety promotes and regulates safety throughout the Nation's railroad industry. This position serves as the regional expert responsible for the interpretation and administration of FRA regulations and procedures concerning railroad Track Safety Standards, Roadway Maintenance Machines and Roadway Workplace Safety for railroads located within the regional boundaries. This position supervises approximately 10 to 14 Railroad Safety Inspectors.

The ideal candidate for this position is a mission focused senior level professional who has experience providing guidance, interpretation, and enforcement of FRA regulations and procedures concerning railroad track safety standards, and roadway workplace safety for railroads located within a specific territory, with excellent leadership skills.
