Update on CSX Payroll Dispute Published: Mar 17 2023 1:29PM
In response to the threat of strike action, CSX Transportation has agreed to four new provisions to rectify ongoing payroll shortcomings that BMWED Allied and Alliance Federations find acceptable. They include a commitment from the carrier to pay all shortages within 24 hours; an elimination of restrictions on overtime processing; the hiring of additional payroll personnel; and periodically updating Federation leadership of payroll progress.
Both the Allied and Alliance Federation officers understand the seriousness of the payroll issues that have plagued CSX for some time now and while this is an encouraging and impactful response, the Union will continue to monitor this situation closely. While these new payroll implementations are acceptable and have alleviated our ten-day strike notice, it is important to note that we will hold the railroad to their stated commitment on this issue.
In the meanwhile, please continue with the strike authorization vote in the event it is needed in the future.
